Emerging Leaders from Australia and the Pacific to Attend the Solomon Islands Dialog Today and Tomorrow

TechInPacific – Today and tomorrow, there will be hosted a big dialog event at the Heritage Park Hotel, Honiara, Solomon Islands. The event is called the Solomon Islands Dialogue hosted by the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP). The event will be attended by emerging leaders from Australia as well as the Pacific. These delegates will share and discuss knowledge about what they can do to improve education in the nation and connect it with the improved digital connectivity.

The theme of the event is Australia-Pacific Connections for a Digital Future that is a part of the Pacific Connect ProgramAs the host of the event, ICDP has a long experience working with partners and leaders to host dialogues in the Pacific areas, such as in Suva, Apia, and Port Moresby.

Today is the Day 1 of the Dialog event. All the invited delegates will have to attend a Welcome Dinner. Being expected at the Welcome Dinner is the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Hon. Manasseh D. Sogavare. The Solomon Islands’ Deputy Prime Minister will also address keynote speech at the event.

Meanwhile, on Day 2, there will be table discussions between delegates. They will examine issues and challenges to work out, pick feasible projects to run, and finally maintain and grow long-term partnership supported by Pacific Connect mentors and its alumni.

The Solomon Islands Dialog will also be co-facilitated by three important people, such as Peter Kenilorea Jr, the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade in the Solomon Islands; Dr. Ian Watt AC, the Chairman of the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships; and Peter Fritz AM, the Group Managing Director of TCG, the Chairman of Global Access Partners and ICDP Strategic Advisor.
