OTML Clinches Deal for Jet A1 Fuel Supply

Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) has announced the establishment of a robust and reliable Jet A1 supply chain, a critical development in resolving the ongoing fuel crisis in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

This move addresses the persistent supply issues faced by Puma Energy, which have been attributed to alleged forex problems.

OTML has secured agreements with the nation’s major airlines, involving long-term contracts that ensure an uninterrupted Jet A1 fuel supply. This advancement is particularly timely as Puma continues to severely ration fuel, causing airlines to struggle with meeting passenger demands and maintaining schedules.

The aviation sector in PNG has experienced significant disruptions due to Puma’s supply challenges, resulting in considerable travel delays and economic setbacks.

“We are thrilled to have established a reliable supply chain that will play a crucial role in resolving the fuel crisis in Papua New Guinea,” said Ok Tedi Mining Ltd managing director and CEO, Kedi Ilimbit.

OTML’s initiative will allow airlines to plan and operate with greater confidence, thereby contributing to the broader economic recovery.
