Fiji’s Water Authority Successfully Migrates to the Cloud with Gentrack on AWS

Gentrack, a pioneer in next-generation utility solutions, has successfully completed a significant project with the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF). This initiative introduces a powerful cloud-based platform designed to enhance customer service, streamline billing and collections processes, and support the deployment of advanced water metering technologies throughout Fiji.

In a joint effort, Gentrack and WAF transitioned WAF’s existing Gentrack system to a high-performance infrastructure powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This migration included the integration of state-of-the-art capabilities aimed at enhancing customer experience and increasing collections efficiency. The project was completed on schedule, ensuring minimal disruption to WAF’s operations. This transition is anticipated to deliver immediate cost savings by digitizing and automating critical processes related to billing, customer management, and revenue collection.

Deploying Gentrack on AWS marks a crucial phase in WAF’s ongoing transformation, allowing the organization to enhance its focus on delivering customer-centric services and utilize advanced revenue management capabilities. This new cloud platform enables WAF to automate more business processes, boost debt recovery efforts, and cut down on operational costs.

Sekove Uluinayau, the Chief Customer Officer at the Water Authority of Fiji, expressed his satisfaction with the project’s successful completion, stating, “This achievement marks a significant advancement in our ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery for our valued customers. The new cloud platform will allow us to better serve our customers and align with our strategic goals as a key service provider in Fiji.”

Allan Sampson, Gentrack’s General Manager for New Zealand, commented, “The collaboration between Gentrack’s Team Pacifika and the WAF team was outstanding in delivering this project. The implementation of the new cloud platform provides a solid foundation for WAF to pursue corporatisation, enhance revenue management, offer new customer experiences, and reduce costs through increased automation.
