Small Grants Facility Empowers Pacific Micro and Small Businesses with Up to TOP $6,000 in Funding

The Small Grants Facility (SGF) from Business Link Pacific (BLP) is providing grants of up to TOP $6,000 to empower micro and small businesses in Tonga and the wider Pacific region.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI) in collaboration with Business Link Pacific, focuses on supporting enterprises led by women, youth, individuals with disabilities, and community-driven businesses that have not previously received BLP funding.

“The Small Grants Facility from BLP offers vital support for community-focused businesses aiming to grow and innovate,” TCCI stated.

Proposals must clearly outline social or economic benefits, such as job creation or market growth, aimed at improving the applicant’s community. Applicants are required to submit business registration documents, financial records, and a detailed project plan.

Grants are intended for significant business improvements, including expansion, developing new products, promoting social inclusion, securing additional funding, or addressing climate-related challenges. Expenses such as regular operating costs, debt repayment, and unrelated activities are not eligible for funding.

To be eligible, businesses must have fewer than 20 employees and have been operational for at least six months. Applicants must also hold a valid bank account and be officially registered in their home country or have the ability to register. Eligible countries include Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, and other Pacific nations.
