Kamikamica Pushes Digital Growth for Fiji’s MSMEs

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica, Fiji’s economy is progressing and transforming, shifting away from traditional industries and towards greater diversification.

During the inauguration of the new South Pacific Business Development  (SPBD) headquarters in Suva yesterday, he emphasized that diversification is not merely a strategy, but a crucial necessity.

Mr. Kamikamica stated, “By backing MSMEs and cooperatives in emerging sectors, we are safeguarding the strength, dynamism, and competitiveness of our economy.”

He mentioned that the government is dedicated to developing policies that foster innovation, eliminate bureaucratic obstacles, and open access to new markets.

Mr. Kamikamica highlighted that digital transformation is a central priority for MSMEs.

He emphasized the importance of digital literacy and e-commerce skills, acknowledging them as essential for business success in today’s world.

By collaborating with financial institutions, tech providers, and organizations like SPBD, we aim to close the digital gap, enabling even the smallest enterprises to engage in the digital economy.

Looking forward, our vision for MSMEs and cooperatives in Fiji is both bold and attainable.

We foresee a future where every entrepreneur, no matter their background or location, has the necessary resources to succeed.

We envision a future where economic growth is propelled by innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability. Our commitment is to cultivating a business environment that encourages creativity, resilience, and success.
