Fiji now has access to cutting-edge payment options

Paymentology, the biggest issuer-processor in the world, has said it will keep working with Vodafone Fiji. This is because Vodafone Fiji is making changes to its M-PAiSA mobile wallet.

Now, customers can get Mastercard digital first cards through the M-PAiSA app, making cross-border and online payments easier.

Vodafone Fiji is receiving critical connectivity from Paymentology in order to build a gateway to the Mastercard global network for the issuance of M-PAiSA Mastercard debit cards.

The partnership uses smart APIs and a pre-built technology stack to authorize and handle Mastercard payments.

The announcement comes at a time when Fiji’s use of credit and debit cards is significantly different from that of developed economies.

Recent polls have shown that many Fijians have trouble getting scheme cards for cross-border spending and joining a digital economy.

Deepak Baran oversees FinTech at Vodafone and says they are pleased to keep working with Paymentology.

Emre Durusut, the Regional Director for APAC at Paymentology, says that they are happy to help Vodafone Fiji move to the next step in the evolution of their financial services.
