The Autonomous Region of Bougainville’s (ARoB) Regional Member, Peter Tsiamalili Jr., has made free internet equipment and connections available to the residents of Bana DISTRICT. This marks yet another important turning point for the district.
To give locals access to the internet, the VSAT was set up in the Tomau 2 ward. The satellite site will provide high-speed internet to local individuals and companies, giving them access to the world of online communication, information, and opportunities. It is situated in the former CDA building in the Beretemba neighborhood.
Junior Walolo, a local ward leader and aspirant entrepreneur, said: “We are happy to introduce internet connectivity to this community.
“We think that everyone should be able to take advantage of the advantages that the online world has to offer.”
The satellite site is accessible to everyone and will provide a variety of services, such as email, internet surfing, online learning, and job training. The ward steering committee had an awareness workshop on how to get on and explore online using the facility with the assistance of neighborhood public employees.
During the awareness campaign, the main focus was online safety. The satellite location is open to the public, and visitors are invited to check it out.
