The 2023 National Women’s Day was held at the Taurama Aquatic Centre. It was put on by the National Capital District Commission and its partners.
The event moved slowly since the electricity went out. Even though they had a setback, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Information and Communication Science field set up booths and stalls and were ready to start the program.
Kila Dick, the social services manager at NCDC, said that the goal was to recruit more women to work in the SME sector.
“In NCDC, we are working with different service providers to make sure that we recognize and use this platform nationally to promote, advertise, and give space for women in SMEs. Over the past few years, the National government has given budgets to different members of parliament, and through those funding arrangements, there is a part that helps SMEs in the country,” he said.
Bolalava Vaia, who owns 360 Galore, took part. Today, her main goal was to get people to know about her business and learn from other digital enterprises.
I suppose the focus of this event is on digital media, and the reason I’m here today is to meet other women. Also, I think we all know now that we’re here to help one another, but we also work together in business partnerships and share ideas about how to operate our businesses. Vaia said, “I think we are here to talk about how we use digital media to run our businesses, especially Facebook.”
The main focus of 360 Galore is Fashion, Design, Art, and Craft. It only works in Port Moresby now, but plans are to expand to Milne Bay Province and the Bougainville Autonomous Region.
