TechInPacific – The PNG-based fintech NiuPay has released an online payment solution in collaboration with Kina Ban to the development of e-commerce in the country, with Minister for Lands and Physical Planning John Rosso foreseeing the solution launching.
With the presence of online gateway, both local and regional landowners can now engage in online payment, thus dismissing the need to come to the Land Department’s offices.
“We see the growth of digital government as crucial to the long-term success of the country. It’s an essential part of our sustainable future that we at Kina Bank are committed to. Bringing citizen-centered government services online means everyone will be able to access these services quickly, cheaply, and efficiently – it breaks down the barriers to access so that everyone can benefit,” Chief Executive Officer of Kina Bank, Mr. Greg Pawson said.
“At NiuPay we consider ourselves ‘digital disruptors’ and as such our mission is to help Government Departments and State-owned enterprise move away from costly and outdated legacy business systems and onto state of the art, highly secure and functional e-government platforms custom built to their exacting needs,” NiuPay’s Director, James Inglis, said.
The launching event was hosted at Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby by Inglis, with the attendance of Prime Minister Hon. James Marape, Hon. Minister for Lands and Mr. Pawson and other high ranking officials.
“Our number one principle guiding each and every decision we make is security. Having a partner such as NiuPay who understands, as we do, the critical nature of maintaining security is critical to us. Our partnership is built on the principle of “security first” for every line of code that is written and every piece of the infrastructure deployed.”
Mr. Pawson reassures that their partnership with NiuPay allows for a secured payment gateway.
“With NiuPay’s own PCI DSS certification, as well as the only partnered 3DS 2.0 platform in Papua New Guinea, we are confident in asserting that NiuPay is a secure and committed local business partner.”
