The inaugural retreat of Women of Westpac (WoW), a women-focused Employee Advocacy Group, centered around the theme “Profit and Purpose.”
This retreat signifies a major achievement in WoW PNG’s dedication to empowering and championing the progress of women in the workplace. It brought together female employees from all branches and the head office for a structured day-long event.
The retreat, hosted at Airways Hotel, served as an ideal setting for networking, exchanging experiences, and gaining valuable insights from industry experts. Through interactive workshops and inspiring keynote speakers, the retreat provided a perfect balance of learning and relaxation, empowering women to unleash their full potential.
Chair of WoW PNG, Sheila Gabusiani, emphasized the significance of the retreat’s theme, stating, “At Westpac, we firmly believe that success extends beyond financial metrics to include the positive influence we have on our employees’ well-being.”
“The Profit and Purpose initiative demonstrates our dedication to empowering women to pursue their aspirations in their careers, personal lives, and communities. Through investing in their personal and professional growth, we not only enhance their lives but also foster sustainable growth for our organization.”
Through WOW PNG, the bank strives to create a nurturing environment where women can excel both in their professional endeavors and personal growth.
Brett Hooker, Westpac PNG’s chief executive officer, underscored the bank’s dedication to WoW, stating: “We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive. As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Westpac values the significant contributions and diverse perspectives that women offer.”
